Abstract

This talk will focus on lipids analysis via LC-MS utilizing New Monodisperse Fully Porous Particle (MFPP) column technology. MFPP refers to the distribution of particle size in the chromatographic packed bed. Reducing the particle dispersity by a modified Stober process has a direct influence on the chromatographic N (efficiency) term the packed bed can deliver which will generate increased resolution across analyte sets and classes compared to commercially available traditional Polydisperse Fully Porous Particle UHPLC columns.

Utilizing the MFPP UHPLC column in combination with a unique bonded phase chemistry attached to the silica surface results in improvements in peak shape, greater efficiency (N) and optimized resolution for a challenging set of lipids. The lipid analytes include Lyso-PC, Cholesterol Esters, Phospholipids and Triglycerides; the comparison analysis comparing peak shape, selectivity, resolution, sensitivity and recovery was performed comparing the results to a traditional Polydisperse Fully Porous Particle UHPLC column platform method and the MFPP UHPLC column new methodology.
